Soon-to-be Premier League newcomers Bournemouth and Fulham are reportedly interested in Manchester United outcast Dean Henderson.

As per The Sun, Bournemouth and Fulham are ready to provide Manchester United shot-stopper Dean Henderson a way out of the club. David de Gea’s supreme form for the Red Devils this season has limited Henderson’s game time and the English international is said to be looking for greener pastures.

Both Fulham and Bournemouth are set to return to the Premier League, having finished as the top two sides in the Championship this season. The Cherries are ready to step up their pursuit of the Manchester United goalkeeper and sign him on loan this summer, but they will face competition from Fulham.

The report claims that Manchester United are willing to let Henderson leave on a loan deal and are even ready to pay half or more of the goalkeeper’s wages. Henderson currently earns £120,000 per week at Old Trafford, and the Red Devils are ready to pay a part of it to sweeten the deal for interested parties.

Henderson briefly became the first-choice goalkeeper at Manchester United last season with David de Gea suffering a dip in form. He made 26 appearances for the English giants in the 2020/21 term across competitions, keeping 13 clean sheets in the process.

There was a belief in the English international’s camp that he would take over as Manchester United’s first-choice goalkeeper permanently but De Gea’s return to form has significantly reduced Henderson’s game time. He has made just three appearances for Manchester United this term, none of which have come in the Premier League. Thus it comes as no surprise that he is keen to leave the club.

The 25-year-old benefitted greatly from his two-year loan spell at Sheffield United, which had opened the door for him to become Manchester United’s first-choice goalkeeper last season. But with opportunities taking a serious hit this term and the 2022 FIFA World Cup fast approaching, a move away from Old Trafford could help resurrect his young career.

Manchester United, meanwhile, are not ready to sell Henderson permanently, with the belief that a solid season in the Premier League will increase his market value. And in case things do not work out in the future with de Gea, they will always have Henderson to call upon. So another Premier League loan move with Fulham or Bournemouth could be on the cards.
