Juventus are reportedly willing to offer Arthur as part of a deal to sign Thomas Partey from Arsenal, but it is doubtful the Gunners will entertain any offers.

According to Spanish outlet AS, Juventus could be preparing a push to sign Thomas Partey from Arsenal in the summer to reinforce their midfield. The Serie A giants are reportedly willing to include Arthur Melo in the deal, who was of interest to the Gunners back in January.

Juventus have peculiar requirements in the transfer market this summer. The Italian giants have lost their shine in the past couple of seasons and are looking to strengthen their squad to get their old mojo back. One of the key areas they want to reinforce is the central midfield.

While they have managed to bring in two good midfielders since last summer in Manuel Locatelli and Denis Zakaria, Massimiliano Allegri has been unable to use them properly. It may be due to the absence of a player who can orchestrate proceedings behind those two.

There are few players of that ilk, and Jorginho is understandably their top target. Chelsea are unlikely to move the Italian international on without a fight, but there are chances of getting him back to Serie A. Juventus have also been looking at Thomas Partey and might approach Arsenal in the summer.

Partey has become a key part of Mikel Arteta’s setup at Arsenal. The Ghanaian endured a mixed bag of a debut season, with injuries and adaptation to the Premier League taking their toll. However, the towering midfielder has made his mark with the Gunners, becoming one of their best performing stars this term.

Arteta is counting on Partey to become an important part of his side next season and may not be open to selling him in the next window. However, the report from AS insists there are problems between the player and the Arsenal manager, and hence, the north Londoners may be willing to cash in on the Ghanaian.

They also mention Arsenal have slapped a €35 million price tag on the midfielder, which is significantly lower than the sum they paid for him in 2020. The additional claim in the report states Juventus could look to lower that asking price by including Arthur Melo in the deal.

Juventus reportedly tried a similar tactic in January, when Arsenal were keen on signing Arthur. The Gunners were not so keen to let a player like Partey go in exchange for the Brazilian, which showed the Ghanaian’s stature at the Emirates. Juventus may nevertheless, look to approach Arsenal in the summer, but it is unlikely that Arsenal will entertain any approach, especially at €35 million.
