Fabrizio Romano dismisses the chances of West Ham United star Jarrod Bowen moving to Manchester United in the summer transfer window.
According to Caught Offside, reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that West Ham United winger Jarrod Bowen will not move to Manchester United in the upcoming 2022 summer transfer window.
The Englishman has been a revelation since moving to the London Stadium from Hull City in 2020. He has since made 100 appearances for the Hammers, scoring 25 goals and assisting 21 more. This has aided David Moyes’s side in their efforts to qualify for Europe and also go deep in the UEFA Europa League.
At 25, Bowen is still yet to enter his prime and has shown enough promise to suggest that he can be an overwhelming force in attack. He has the ability to function at a higher level and could be an excellent signing for the top six clubs.
One of the teams linked with the Englishman is Manchester United. With the Erik ten Hag era set to begin in the summer, the Red Devils squad is likely to experience an overhaul of sorts. Jesse Lingard, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are among those who could be shown the door.
With Anthony Elanga yet to develop into a reliable attacker, it is evident that Manchester United could with attacking reinforcements. Unfortunately, Old Trafford does not appear to be a possible destination for the 25-year-old.
This could pave the way for Liverpool to make their move. The Reds are also interested in Bowen and could add him to their roster in the summer. Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah are not getting any younger. Jurgen Klopp is believed to be a fan of the player, and it remains to be seen if he will push for the Englishman’s signature.
West Ham, for their part, could do with Bowen for another season. With Declan Rice’s future also in doubt, the Hammers will not be keen to lose another key player in the same window. Furthermore, Bowen still has to fine-tune his game, something he can do under Moyes.
Manchester United need a major revamp of their squad, and it is imperative that they sign players who can make a telling difference. With Bowen out of the question, it remains to be seen who they will go for.
