Steven Bergwijn is reportedly ready to evaluate his options and head towards the exit door at Tottenham following a lack of minutes under Antonio Conte.

According to The Times, Steven Bergwijn is considering his future at Tottenham Hotspur and is ready to leave the club, searching for regular game time elsewhere. The Dutch attacker has been affected by a severe lack of minutes under Antonio Conte and feels the situation may not change next season.

Tottenham were willing to offload Steven Bergwijn as part of their mini-overhaul in January. The club managed to let go of several players during the last window and remained open to offers for the Dutch forward. However, the winger’s star showing as a substitute against Leicester City to clinch an impossible victory changed their minds.

Tottenham even reportedly rejected an offer from Ajax for the Dutchman in the January transfer window, as Antonio Conte wanted to keep him on as a high-quality squad option. Bergwijn started the game against Chelsea, which came right after the Leicester clash and has since not been a part of the starting eleven for Spurs.

The 24-year-old has made 12 substitute appearances for Tottenham since and is affected by a severe lack of game time under Conte. Bergwijn is now considering his options ahead of the summer transfer window, as he reportedly believes the situation may not change next season.

Ajax have retained an interest in the Dutch international, while there could be other teams, especially from the Premier League vying for his signature. Bergwijn has plenty of quality that could help some clubs in England or abroad, and heading back to Holland could become a backburner option for the Tottenham Hotspur.

Erik ten Hag is reportedly keen on recruiting Bergwijn at Manchester United this coming summer. Signing him from Tottenham could become a tedious affair as the Red Devils have experienced in their past dealings with chairman Daniel Levy.

Bergwijn has a contract with Tottenham until 2025, which will prompt Levy to exact good value from suitors in the coming window. Moreover, Conte does not rate him too much, and the manager could ask for a replacement player of his choice.

Bergwijn does not have a future at Tottenham, and he could look towards exiting the club for a new challenge elsewhere. Whether he sticks around in the Premier League or decides to move back to his homeland remains to be seen.
