Newcastle United table offer to sign Paulo Dybala

Premier League side Newcastle United have reportedly tabled an offer for Juventus forward Paulo Dybala, a target for Arsenal and Manchester United.

According to Football Insider, Newcastle United have made an official approach to sign Juventus forward Paulo Dybala over a Bosman move this summer. The Magpies are preparing for a massive summer as they attempt to return to the upper echelons of the English top-flight under new owners and have identified Dybala as a statement signing.

The Newcastle United board has reportedly tabled a ‘huge’ offer for the Argentine as per the report but will have to beat competition from multiple European and Premier League giants, including Arsenal and Manchester United. Their audacious move, however, could unsettle a few interested clubs who will be forced to up their offer for the 28-year-old.

The report claims that Newcastle have offered Dybala a deal worth £200,000 per week in wages, which will make him their best-paid player of all time. The Argentine playmaker’s contract with Juventus expires this summer, and he is free to discuss potential deals with interested clubs.

Newcastle United are not the only Premier League club interested in securing Dybala’s signature. Manchester United and Arsenal are also monitoring the Argentine’s situation and could make a move this summer. While Manchester United are targeting a major squad overhaul with new manager Erik ten Hag taking over the reins next season, Arsenal are on the lookout for a centre-forward.

Dybala is attracting interest from Spain and Italy as well, considering he is still at the peak of his powers and will be available for free this summer. After a sub-par 2020/21 season, the Argentine has once again come into his own this term, scoring 14 goals for the Bianconeri across all competitions.

The versatile playmaker can play as a second-striker, centre-forward and on the wings as well, which makes him an exciting prospect for any interested party. But it is highly unlikely that Dybala will end up at Newcastle United since the Premier League side cannot offer him Champions League football.

The Magpies are still good two-three years away from challenging for top honours, which could deter Dybala from moving to St. James’ Park. It will be interesting to see if Arsenal and Manchester United can claw their way back in the race to sign the Argentine, although Manchester United will have a similar predicament as Newcastle United.
