Arsenal open talks with Gabriel Jesus

Arsenal have opened talks with Gabriel Jesus’ representative over a move in the summer, with things looking hopeful for the Gunners.

According to Goal, Arsenal director Edu Gaspar has met with Gabriel Jesus’ agent Paulo Pitombeir, with a view to beginning the process to bring the Brazilian to the Emirates. The Manchester City striker will enter the final year of his contract at the Etihad, with things pretty much open at this point.

Gabriel Jesus has proved his mercurial attributes during his many years in Manchester City. The striker, still only 25, has a long career ahead of him, but seeks to be a regular starter something that has not happened at the Etihad. Hence, the forward is ready to leave the Premier League champions in the summer.

Manchester City were reportedly open to offers last summer when they pursued Harry Kane from Tottenham. With the England captain unable to move to Pep Guardiola’s side, the Premier League champions decided to continue with Jesus as their only recognised striker.

Things could change in the upcoming summer window, as Manchester City are ready to sign Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund. The Norwegian’s arrival will likely end Jesus’ time at the club, as Guardiola’s side would then open to offers coming in for the Brazilian.

Jesus has only started 17 of the 24 games he has featured in the Premier League. He did smash four goals against Watford at the weekend. As things stand, the club may cash in on the Brazilian, and there are a few sides keen on signing the striker.

Arsenal are interested in signing the Brazilian. There have been no talks between the clubs so far, which could begin when Arsenal know the player wants the move. Personal terms could be agreed between this period as the Gunners seems to be moving in the right direction.

According to the latest reports, Edu Gaspar has met with Jesus’ agent Paulo Pitombeir and opened talks over a possible move. The striker’s representative might act as the intermediary between the two clubs when they begin formal talks.

Jesus is being lined up as a replacement for Alexandre Lacazette, who could depart on a free transfer in the summer. The Gunners could look to bring another forward, with the likes of Darwin Nunez mentioned as a top target for the north Londoners.

As for Jesus, he could be available at a reasonable cost considering he will have just a year left on his deal after the current season ends. He is proven himself in the Premier League, which could come as an added bonus for Arsenal, and considering the price he may arrive at, it will be good business for the north Londoners.
