Leicester City have reportedly joined fellow Premier League sides Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur in the pursuit of Gleison Bremer.

According to Daily Telegraph, a host of Premier League clubs are showing interest in Torino centre-back Gleison Bremer. Leicester City, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are all targeting the 25-year-old after impressing for the Serie A side over the last two seasons.

Bremer has been on the wishlist of several Italian giants as well, with Juventus, AC Milan and Inter all registering interest. The Nerazzurri even made official contact with the defender’s entourage last November, but a move did not materialise.

Bremer is set to be part of a transfer tug-of-war this summer with heavy interest from England as well. Along with the aforementioned clubs, Arsenal are also reportedly targeting the defender, which further complicates matters and leaves the Brazilian with a host of clubs to choose from.

Leicester had been fighting for European spots over the last few seasons, but they have fallen off the radar this term and are currently ninth on the table with the danger of missing out on a top-half finish. They are thus preparing to provide Brendan Rodgers with reinforcements this summer to get back to challenging for European spots.

Only six clubs have conceded more goals than the Foxes in the Premier League this season, and they are eager to improve their defence ahead of the next season. The £40 million-rated Bremer, to that end, is a viable target. Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are all preparing for an important summer transfer window as well, and defence is on all of their agendas.

Liverpool could be viewing Bremer as a potential replacement for Joe Gomez, who is being linked with an exit. As for Tottenham, Antonio Conte is keen on refreshing his defensive options, with the likes of Joe Rodon, Japhet Tanganga and Davinson Sanchez staring at uncertain futures. Given director Fabio Paratici’s deep knowledge of the Serie A market, the interest in Bremer is not surprising.

Bremer has been solid in the Serie A this season, producing improved performances against the bigger clubs, highlighting his potential to perform at the top-most level. He has made 107 appearances for Torino since joining them in 2018, scoring 13 and assisting five times.

This season, Bremer has played 30 league matches for the club, scoring three and assisting one goal. And as he continues to impress for the Turin-based club, it is only natural that he is attracting interest from all around Europe. It now remains to be seen who among the aforementioned clubs lands the Brazilian in the summer.
