Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a major boost as talismanic striker Harry Kane has no intention of leaving the club in the summer.

According to Calciomercato, Harry Kane has no intention of leaving Tottenham Hotspur in the summer. The Englishman is convinced of Antonio Conte’s project and unlike last summer, he won’t ask to leave Spurs in favour of a move to a bigger team.

Kane’s decision to remain at Spurs is a gutsy one given the club’s underwhelming performances in almost all competitions over the past couple of years. Not to mention, the forward is still a top target for a plethora of European giants including Real Madrid, Manchester United and Manchester City.

Manchester City were close to securing his services last summer, but the move did not go through as Kane opted to remain at Tottenham for another year. His decision has not exactly paid off as Spurs have once again failed to land any major trophies this season, crashing out of the Carabao Cup, FA Cup and UEFA Europa Conference League far too early.

However, the Lilywhites have shown a lot of promise in the Premier League lately. Especially after a couple of smart signings in January, Tottenham have looked much more complete and are currently on a solid run of four successive wins.

Tottenham’s positive form has propelled them to the fourth spot, with the north London giants emerging as the firm favourites to secure the position ahead of Arsenal, West Ham United, Manchester United and Wolves.

Kane’s productivity has played a key role during his period, with the Tottenham talisman notably being involved in 12 goals in his last seven league matches. His combination play with Son Heung-min and Dejan Kulusevski has truly made Spurs one of the most exciting teams in the division.

The Lilywhites can only get better from now on, as they look to utilise the summer transfer window to further strengthen the squad. Tottenham are already in contention to bring back former cult hero Christian Eriksen, who has an excellent rapport with Son and Kane.

In addition, the Londoners have targeted a plethora of strong defensive players in order to complement Cristian Romero in central defence. Matthias Ginter, for one, has emerged as one of the potential candidates for Tottenham, though Conte would ideally like to sign Inter Milan stalwarts Milan Skriniar or Stefan de Vrij.
