La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid continue to be hopeful of signing Kylian Mbappe, despite reports claiming he could sign a renewal with PSG.
According to a report by 90 min, Kylian Mbappe’s future continues to be mired in uncertainties. The French forward could sign a bumper new contract with Paris Saint-Germain, but that is not stopping Real Madrid from remaining confident that they will secure his services on a Bosman move.
Kylian Mbappe is one of the best players in world football, as he continues to go from strength to strength in France. The 23-year-old only burst onto the scenes nearly half a decade ago but has already established himself among the game’s elites, winning almost every trophy he has contested for at the club and international levels.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner has enjoyed a superb 2021/22 campaign thus far, racking up 28 goals and 20 assists in 38 appearances across all competitions. But Mbappe’s contract situation has left PSG scrambling to tie him down to a bumper new contract. At the same time, he is also a priority target for Real Madrid, who tried to sign him for a mega-money deal last summer.
Despite failing to land Mbappe last year, Real Madrid’s resolve of securing his services has grown stronger, with Los Blancos plotting a Bosman move for the French international. Recent reports have claimed that the Spanish giants are prepared to offload six players to make room for Mbappe and Erling Haaland.
Signing a player like Mbappe has been long overdue for Real Madrid, considering Gareth Bale has lost all his prominence at the Santiago Bernabeu in the last few years. With Vinicius Jr. and Karim Benzema going guns blazing this season, signing the 23-year-old will complete the Real Madrid attack.
But Mbappe has failed to reveal much when quizzed about his future. Reports this week have also suggested that the French forward could pen a bumper new contract with PSG, with 90 min also claiming the same. But Real Madrid’s resolve remains unmoved, with Los Blancos confident they can sign him on a Bosman move.
It will be interesting to see if PSG can secure Mbappe’s long-term future or if Real Madrid can succeed in prising the youngster away from Parc des Princes on a free transfer as the summer transfer window approaches.
