Tottenham pushing to sign Dejan Kulusevski permanently

Tottenham could bring forward talks with Juventus over the permanent signing of Dejan Kulusevski, who has sufficiently impressed the north London side.

According to TuttoJuve, Tottenham and Juventus could begin talks over the permanent transfer of Dejan Kulusevski. The Sweden star has sufficiently impressed the Spurs board, who would like to bring the negotiations forward than intended to complete the winger’s signing permanently.

Dejan Kulusevski featured on the radars of many top clubs, as Juventus seemed destined to offload him in January. The Swede has been impressive since joining the Italian side, who surprised many with their decision to part ways with the attacker.

Former football director Fabio Paratici was alert to this opportunity and used his influence to strike a deal with Juventus. Tottenham signed Kulusevski on an 18-month loan, with an option to buy him outright for €35 million.

Kulusevsi has sufficiently impressed those in charge of Tottenham after putting in impressive performances since joining the squad. After the January window, Antonio Conte complained about a weakened team, although the Swede’s presence has certainly improved them from an attacking standpoint.

Conte lavished praise on Kulusevski after Spurs’ domination of Leeds United, with the Swede displaying sensational performance from the right side of the attack. He has scored four times and provided two assists in his nine games for Tottenham. His impressive performances are now making the club think about his future.

Tottenham could begin talks with Juventus 12 months before they might have ideally begun as per the contract. With a €35 million buy option already present, Spurs could look to sign him permanently during the summer window, instead of waiting until 2023.

The north Londoners are keen to keep hold of Kulusevski, as they see him as a good player with great prospects for the future. They want to strike a deal when his value is reasonable, although it could skyrocket if he continues with his impressive performances.

Kulusevski has established a great understanding with Harry Kane and Son Heung-min which could aid Tottenham’s push for a top-four place. Conte continues to play down their chances to finish in Champions League places, although they could certainly aim to catch Arsenal in the fourth place with that trio.

As things stand, Spurs would like to accelerate talks with Juventus and sign the Swede permanently. Finalising the deal may be a straightforward discussion, although dramatic, late twists are always possible in football.
