Arsenal, Manchester City, Tottenham in talks with Paulo Dybala

Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are in talks with Juventus forward Paulo Dybala’s entourage over a possible summer move.

Corriere dello Sport (via Football Italia) reports that Paulo Dybala’s representatives are in talks with multiple clubs as the Argentine prepares for a new adventure. Arsenal, Manchester City, and Tottenham are negotiating to possibly sign the forward in the summer window. Serie A champions Inter are also said to have opened negotiations with the Juventus star, along with Atletico Madrid.

Dybala is into his seventh season with the Old Lady after joining them from Palermo in 2015 in a €41 million deal. The forward had scored 21 goals and provided 16 assists in 93 appearances for Palermo, which convinced Juventus to sign him. The 2014/15 season was when Dybala rose to prominence, scoring 13 league goals and providing 10 assists.

The 28-year-old started strongly for the Bianconeri and was among the goals. He scored 19, 11 and 22 goals in his first three seasons with the Serie A giants, respectively. But then inconsistency struck, coupled with injury problems, as Dybala struggled to break into the first team at times.

Nonetheless, the Argentine has scored 113 goals for Juventus, 13 of which have come this season. But, having entered the final year of his contract, Dybala will not sign an extension with the club and leave on a free transfer this coming summer window. The 28-year-old has quite a few potential suitors and it wouldn’t be difficult for him to find a new club.

Among Dybala’s potential new clubs are Arsenal. The Gunners are undergoing a major rebuild under Mikel Arteta and are on the lookout for a proven goal-scoring forward. In the winter window, they parted ways with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and are set to lose Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah in the summer, with their contract expiring.

Tottenham, too, are looking towards a very important summer window as Antonio Conte tries to get them back into contention for consistent top-four finishes. With Harry Kane’s future uncertain, they need to add another marquee forward to their ranks before the next season kicks off, making Dybala a viable target.

Manchester City, meanwhile, could see Gabriel Jesus leave in the summer, with Juventus showing an interest. The Cityzens are also looking for a potential replacement for Sergio Aguero, who they lost to Barcelona last summer. A move for Erling Haaland has been mooted strongly, but someone like Dybala could be an ideal fit into Pep Guardiola’s system and would not cost any transfer fees.

With the race heating up to sign the 28-year-old Argentine, it will certainly be interesting to see where he ends up next season. As things stand, a move to the Premier League looks like a serious possibility for Dybala.
