Juventus submit enquiry for Mohamed Salah

Serie A giants Juventus have reportedly submitted an enquiry for Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah.

According to a report by Italian publication La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus are eager to return to the pinnacle of Serie A and want to get back to challenging for the UEFA Champions League. The Bianconeri are currently fourth in Serie A. They were also knocked out of the Champions League in the Round of 16 by Villarreal. It was their third consecutive Round of 16 exit from the continental competition.

Juventus have thus identified Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah as a possible summer signing to get back to where they belong. Though Cristiano Ronaldo was not at his very best in Italy, he still scored over 100 goals for the Serie A giants. Juventus signed Dusan Vlahovic in the January transfer window, but could move for another forward in the summer.

Paulo Dybala’s contract with the club runs down in the summer and talks over a possible extension have broken down, leading to interest from Manchester United, Arsenal, and others. Juventus are thus on the lookout for a top-class forward, and believe Salah is the right man to take them to the next level.

As far as the Egyptian’s contract situation at Liverpool is concerned, he will have just a year remaining on his deal after the ongoing season. The likes of Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona, and now Juventus have all been linked with moves for Salah, and for a good reason.

Over the past couple of seasons, many have named the Egyptian as the world’s best player. Despite missing some of the league action this season due to his participation at the Africa Cup of Nations, Salah is still the top scorer in the Premier League with 20 goals.

In all competitions, the 29-year-old has made 36 club appearances this season across competitions, scoring 28 times and assisting 10 goals. Salah’s form is attracting potential suitors from all around Europe and it remains to be seen whether Liverpool manage to hold on to their prized asset.

The Egyptian is not interested in signing the contract currently on offer from Liverpool. All the Reds need to do is match the demands of Salah, who wants to become one of the best-paid players in the Premier League. If not, he could well be on his way to joining Serie A giants Juventus in the summer.
