Manchester United are keeping tabs on Tino Livramento amid interest in the Southampton defender from across the Premier League.

According to Calciomercato, Manchester United are interested in Tino Livramento as they continue monitoring the Southampton full-back. The Saints, however, intend to make a contract offer to the ex-Chelsea starlet to stave off suitors.

Tino Livramento has quickly established himself as one of the best youngsters in English football. His mature performances for Southampton this season have shown why he was so eager for first-team football away from Chelsea.

Ralph Hasenhuttl recognised his talent and has made him a regular in the side. Livramento has played 21 league games this season, scoring one goal and setting up two more for his teammates. The 19-year-old did miss a few games with a knee problem from the end of December until early February, although he seems to be hitting his stride again.

Southampton paid a little over £5 million for the promising 19-year-old full-back, which could be one of the bargains of the summer. However, the Saints could be in for a massive profit on their small investment if the likes of Manchester United end up paying big money for the right-back.

The Old Trafford outfit have held a strong interest in the youngster for a while now. But given his promise and potential, other clubs could come in and show a keenness to secure his services in the summer transfer window.

Manchester United have major issues at the back, with the right-back position identified as a problematic area. They have been linked with Arsenal and Tottenham target Tariq Lapmtey, although the Brighton star will likely cost around £40 million.

Current incumbents Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot have not been up to the required standards consistently enough, although the latter has been preferred by Ralf Rangnick. However, Manchester United could jump in with the money if an opportunity to sign a player of Lamptey or Livramento’s quality arises in the summer.

However, as things stand, Livramento has a long-term contract with the Saints until 2026, and they are considering handing him a new deal so as not to lose the talented youngster this early in his career at the club. Only the summer window will reveal whether the player is willing to test himself among the big boys of the Premier League or further his development at St Mary’s.
