Juventus have reportedly lodged an enquiry with Real Madrid over the availability of Marco Asensio, whose contract stands to expire in 2023.
According to Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Real Madrid attacker Marco Asensio has emerged as a transfer target for Serie A giants Juventus ahead of the upcoming summer window.
Asensio has been with Real Madrid for more than half a decade and has made over 220 appearances for the club, chalking up a return of 46 goals and 23 assists. While he had been a key player for the team in a couple of seasons after his breakthrough, the Spaniard has lost some of his sheen since returning from a long-term injury.
Asensio has produced a tally of nine goals this season, but his performances have left a lot to be desired on several occasions. And with his contract set to expire in 2023, there is an air of uncertainty surrounding his future at the Santiago Bernabeu. At the same time, the potential arrival of Kylian Mbappe could push him further down the pecking order.
So, there is a chance that Asensio might decide to move on from Real Madrid in the summer, and according to the report, Juventus are keen on signing the 26-year-old Spanish international.

The Bianconeri are slowly getting back on track after a couple of smart signings in January in Dusan Vlahovic and Denis Zakaria. And they are planning a big splurge in the summer wherein many fringe players could be allowed to leave to make room for new arrivals.
Paulo Dybala’s future hangs in the balance as his contract expires at the end of the season. The Argentine international already has offers from clubs like Tottenham and could pack his bags if his contract demands are not met. It would leave a gaping hole in their attacking unit, which they are hoping to fill with the capture of Asensio.
To that end, Juventus have launched an enquiry to explore the possibility of signing the Spanish international. The club have also promised him a top-quality squad to play with, as they are planning to bring in the likes of Nicolo Zaniolo, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Paul Pogba. The lure of being a key part of such a roster is sure to appeal to Asensio.
However, Real Madrid are already planning contract talks with the former Mallorca youth starlet. So, it remains to be seen if Juventus can convince him to reject the Spanish giants and make the switch to Turin at the end of the season.
