An all-round performance from Bayern Munich helped them in climbing to second place as they thrashed SC Freiburg 5-0 in the Bundesliga.

Serge Gnabry started the proceedings pretty early as Leroy Sane’s blocked shot came straight to him and the German didn’t make any mistake in heading the ball home.

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting then joined the party as he latched one to the far corner as Sane became the provider this time. Sane then produced a spell of magic as the winger curled one from 18 yards leaving the Freiburg keeper in tatters.

Sadio Mane added a fourth as he lifted the ball over the shot-stopper having received the ball from Serge Gnabry. Mane was again involved in the fifth goal as his shot was blocked by Matthias Ginter but it only found Marcel Sabitzer who nodded it past Mark Flekken.

The Hard Tackle now runs the rule over Julian Nagelsmann’s men.

Sven Ulreich: 6/10

The second-choice keeper wasn’t tested much by the Freiburg players as he had a rather comfortable evening between the sticks. Distributed the ball well to see out a complete performance.

Noussair Mazraoui: 6/10

The right-back combined well with the forward players and used the width to provide much more room for the forward players. A hamstring pull cut his stint short.

Matthijs de Ligt: 7/10

Assured performance in the heart of the defence as the Netherlands defender complemented his partner well. Didn’t really have any uncomfortable situations throughout the game.

Dayot Upamecano: 7/10

The defender had a commanding presence in the Bayern half and set the tempo with a majestic performance. Bayern hardly felt any danger as the 23-year-old was everpresent everywhere.

Alphonso Davies: 7/10

His speed often gave a hard time to the opposition defender as he worked like a winger at times. The left-back is certainly the fastest player in the Bundesliga currently.

Joshua Kimmich: 8/10

Put in a brilliant shift as the midfielder orchestrated the play all over the field. Took up some brilliant positions and also broke up play as Freiburg hardly posed any threat to the Bayern goal.

Leon Goretzka: 8/10

His 85% passing accuracy tells the whole story. Freiburg never seized control in the middle of the pitch and Goretzka needs to be credited for that. Another brilliant display as he brought in a balance between the defence and the attack.

Serge Gnabry: 7.5/10

Took the first goal very well as he was well-positioned to head home. Should be happy with his performance.

Leroy Sane: 9/10

The German international was sensational in the game. The former Manchester City star first set up Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting with a fantastic out-of-the-boot pass that doubled the lead. He then cracked a brilliant curler from 18 yards to announce his arrival again.

Sadio Mane: 7.5/10

His diminishing pace could be a problem for Bayern in times to come. He scored his fifth of the season as he lobbed Serge Gnabry’s lofted pass over the Freiburg’s keeper.

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting: 7/10

The player did his job perfectly and got his reward as he fired Leroy Sane’s pass to the bottom corner from a very acute angle.
