New signing N’Golo Kante and 2014/15 PFA Player of the Year Eden Hazard have been named in the starting lineup for Chelsea as they take on Werder Bremen.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has named a full strength squad as the Blues take on Bundesliga side Werder Bremen in their final pre-season friendly. Spanish striker Diego Costa leads the line with a midfield four of Willian, Oscar, Nemanja Matic and Eden Hazard behind him.
N’Golo Kante, who moved to Stamford Bridge for a reported £30.4 million, will begin today’s game in a defensive midfield position. A relatively strong back four has been named by the Blues boss, which sees John Terry partner Gary Cahill at the heart of Chelsea’s defence. Meanwhile, first-choice goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has been named in the starting eleven.

For Werder Bremen, former Bayern Munich attacker Claudio Pizzaro is expected to play as a lone striker. Highly-rated midfielder Max Kruse will be starting just off the Italian with Sambou Yatabare and Clemen Fritz on either wing. Youngster Janek Sternberg has been named in the playing eleven and will be deployed as a left-back against the Blues. German stopper Felix Wiedwald will start in goal for the German club and could have a tough time given the firepower among Chelsea’s ranks.
