Arsenal ended their pre-season tour of the United States with a 3-1 win over Mexican side Chivas Guadalajara at the StubHub Centre in Carson, California.

Arsenal finished their US tour in style as goals from new signing Rob Holding, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Chuba Akpom gave the Gunners a 3-1 win over Mexican outfit Chivas Guadalajara. Arsene Wenger’s side romped to a 3-0 lead in the first hour of the game before Chivas got one back through a 74th minute Angel Zaldivar penalty.

Wenger seemed satisfied with his team’s performance after the win on Sunday night and reserved special praise for his younger players.

“It was an ideal game against a very determined Chivas,” Wenger was quoted as saying by the club’s official website. “Overall I think it was interesting for us because we needed to be patient as they started better than us. After 20 minutes we came into the game and we got a comfortable win in the end.

“It was very interesting to see some young players – we had a very young defence. Overall it was a positive experience for us.”

Arsenal goalscorer Oxlade-Chamberlain was also happy with his club’s pre-season form and took to Twitter to convey his feelings to his fans.

The Gooners took to Twitter to celebrate their club’s victory and to praise the players — especially ‘the Ox’, who continued his superb pre-season form, and young striker Chuba Akpom.

While there were mainly positive tweets about the result and the form of the team, some fans pointed out the potential negative impacts of the result.

Arsenal waved goodbye to their fans in the United States as they look forward to their next friendly against Viking FK in Norway, which is their penultimate game before the start of the season.
