Manchester United took a sizable lead against Saint-Etienne in their Europa League Round of 32 tie, courtesy a Zlatan Ibrahimovic hat-trick. Jose Mourinho’s side now have a three-goal advantage heading into the return leg at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard next week.
Ibrahimovic gave Manchester United an early lead in the match from a deflected free kick that left Stephane Ruffier wrong footed. He then followed it up with two goals in the second half – an easy tap-in from Marcus Rashford’s driving run and a late penalty – to complete his hat-trick.
