Vladyslav Krapyvtsov reveals he could have joined Arsenal or Chelsea

Girona goalkeeper Vladyslav Krapyvtsov has now revealed that he had the option to join Arsenal or Chelsea in recent times.

In a report via Tribuna, Ukrainian goalkeeper Vladyslav Krapyvtsov has revealed that he could have ended up at Arsenal or Chelsea, but Premier League regulations prevented the move.

Chelsea wanted to secure his signature and they were in contact with his agent as well. However, they were unable to secure a spot for him in the transfer application. The player has now joined Girona and it will be interesting to see if he can impress in La Liga.

Vladyslav Krapyvtsov said, “I could have ended up at Arsenal or Chelsea, but at the last moment there were problems with the documents. These are the nuances of the Premier League regulations. Chelsea were unable to get another additional place in the application for me. The agent called and told me how it was.

“Of course, at first I hesitated about what and how to do next, but I told Vadim that I completely trust him and I am calm. And that’s how I got to Girona. If it weren’t for my agent, I wouldn’t be where I am now. So this is a great job from him, for which I am very grateful to him.”

Chelsea and Arsenal wanted Krapyvtsov

Chelsea needed to bring in a quality goalkeeper during the summer transfer window, and it is no surprise that they were looking at Vladyslav Krapyvtsov. Robert Sanchez has been criticised heavily since joining the club, and Chelsea need an upgrade. They have been linked with multiple goalkeepers in recent weeks. It will be interesting to see if they decide to return for the Ukrainian shot-stopper in future.

Meanwhile, Arsenal needed a quality backup option to David Raya as well. The Gunners have signed Kepa Arrizabalaga, and it will be quite surprising if they decide to invest in another goalkeeper. Arsenal are well stocked in that area of the pitch, and they should look to invest in other areas of the squad instead.

The opportunity to move to the Premier League could have been quite exciting for the Ukrainian goalkeeper. It would have been a major step up in his career. However, the move to La Liga is not bad either. He will look to prove himself in Spain and establish himself as a key player for Girona. It will be interesting to see if he can make an instant impact at the Spanish club.
