Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof has opened up about his future at the club while responding to questions on Jadon Sancho.

Victor Lindelof has struggled for regular game time at Manchester United. But he has said that he has a contract with the Premier League club and that he loves playing for them. He also added that an exit this past summer was not on the cards at all. In addition, Lindelof spoke about the recent controversy surrounding Jadon Sancho.

The defender also opened up on the situation surrounding Jadon Sancho. The 23-year-old winger has been heavily criticised in recent weeks, especially after Erik ten Hag revealed that his performances have been underwhelming in training.

He said, “I love Manchester Utd and I still have a contract. So I can say that my exit this summer wasn’t close at all. Sancho? Many things are written about United and it will always be like that. We are a united group. I don’t think about it.”

Sancho has clearly fallen out with the manager, and he revealed in an official statement that ten Hag’s claims were untrue. There have been rumours that his teammates are fed up with the player as well. However, Lindelof has revealed that regardless of what is written about the club in the press, the players are a united group.

Lindelof will be hoping to play more often for Manchester United in the coming weeks in the absence of Raphael Varane. And it remains to be seen whether the Red Devils are prepared to provide him with that opportunity. The 29-year-old can be a useful defender for Manchester United this season.

They have Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez as the first-choice defenders at their disposal. But the Red Devils will need more depth and quality in order to navigate multiple competitions. They cannot hope to go through an entire season with just two defenders at their disposal.

It is fair to assume that ten Hag will have to rotate his squad soon and Lindelof will certainly get his opportunity. The Swedish international will have to make an immediate impact in order to cement his place in the starting lineup.

He was highly rated during his time at Benfica, but the move to Manchester United has not gone according to plan. The defender has been in and out of the squad since his arrival at Old Trafford, and it remains to be seen whether he can convince the Manchester United manager of his quality in the coming weeks.

As for Sancho, Manchester United paid a premium for him, and they will hope that he can regain his top form quickly. The England international was regarded as a world-class talent during his time at Borussia Dortmund, and there is no doubt that he could be a key player for the club if he manages to get back to his best once again.
