Thiago Silva has showered praise on Chelsea and its supporters after the Champions League win over LOSC Lille.

Chelsea made history in midweek when they became the first English team to register five back to back wins at home without conceding a single goal, following a comfortable 2-0 victory over LOSC Lille. The run stretches back to the semi-final of last season’s Champions League when the Blues had beaten Real Madrid with a similar scoreline.

One player who was involved in all of these five matches is Thiago Silva, who appears to have become a cult-favourite after Stamford Bridge after joining from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2020. The veteran was one of the top performers even in the recent win over Lille, notably winning possession 12 times.

Speaking to the media after the win, Silva was quick to shower praise on Chelsea and its supporters while shedding light on his successive spell in west London. “I feel like I’m living a dream here at Chelsea.”, Silva told TNT Sports, as quoted by Daily Mail.

Prior to his move to Chelsea, Silva had spent eight years at PSG. He was the marquee defender in the club’s project to become one of the powerhouses of European football. But despite winning seven Ligue 1 titles, a Champions League trophy had always eluded the Brazilian.

However, since his move to Stamford Bridge, the defender has already bagged three trophies, including the Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup, which he hadn’t won before.

“I wasn’t expecting something like that. The fans are always singing my name. It’s magic, it’s a dream. I’m really proud to play here for Chelsea and their supporters.”, he added, thanking the fans for their contributions in helping Chelsea emerge as one of the strongest teams in Europe over the past 12 months.

While Chelsea’s recent 2-0 win over LOSC Lille puts them in a commanding position, Thiago Silva will be aiming for his fourth trophy for the Blues when his side takes on Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.
