Steve McManaman claims Real Madrid could enter decade of dominance

Liverpool legend Steve McManaman believes Spanish giants Real Madrid are all set to enter a decade of dominance.

Real Madrid lifted their 15th UEFA Champions League title last night after winning 2-0 in the final against Borussia Dortmund. The Spanish club might not have played their best football, but they did get the job done in the end. Dani Carvajal’s header and Vinicius Junior’s left-footed finish were enough to get them their sixth UCL title in 11 years.

Carlo Ancelotti’s team were a dominant force throughout the 2023/24 season. They won the La Liga title without much trouble and have done something similar in the UEFA Champions League.

Steven McManaman’s bold prediction about Real Madrid

Given the kind of performances they have out in the recently concluded campaign and the fact that they have some major arrivals lined up, Liverpool icon Steven McManaman feels Real Madrid could enter a ‘decade of dominance’.

Following Los Blancos’ win in the UCL, McManaman said via Eurosport, “Now they don’t need to buy players anymore because the players want to join them so much that they’re orchestrating moves to get there. They have a new stadium [and] the team is young. If Kylian does eventually join – when its announced – [and when] Endrick [arrives].”

“Everybody’s looking at this team thinking this could be a decade of dominance. How can I get there? Am I good enough? If you are good enough, how can I orchestrate a move to this team. So they’re waiting for people to knock on their door saying I’m going to come here next year, in two years they’re getting that powerful.”

While the Spanish giants will be busy celebrating their incredible double, they have an important transfer window coming up where they will look to further bolster their squad. Brazilian wonderkid Endrick will be arriving ahead of next season, while Kylian Mbappe is also expected to join them as a free agent.

The French international is leaving PSG as a free agent and as per reports, he could be unveiled as a Real Madrid player before the start of the Euros. The arrival of the duo will further bolster their squad and could help them dominate European football for years to come.

The TNT Sports Expert and Liverpool icon McManaman feels Real Madrid have established themselves as the most attractive destination for players from across the world. They do not need to do the hard yards to sign a player anymore because the players want to join them.

The new stadium and the young squad that they have built are major reasons why top stars would want to play for them. Moreover, their anticipated dominance in Europe over the next decade positions them as the most alluring destination for ambitious players.
