Manchester City consolidated their place in the Premier League Top 4 as they ran out 3-0 winners over Southampton at the St. Mary’s Stadium on Saturday.
The Premier League title may have slipped away from them long ago, but Manchester City are well on course to retaining their Champions League status for next season after comfortably beating Southampton 3-0 on Saturday.
A goalless half was followed by a superb performance in the second half by the visitors. Captain Vincent Kompany finally broke the deadlock in the 55th minute before Leroy Sane doubled City’s advantage 22 minutes later.
Sergio Aguero then put the game to bed with ten minutes left in regulation time to seal the three points for City, who leapfrogged Liverpool into 3rd place. Here are the best tweets emerging in the aftermath of the comfortable win for Manchester City.
