Roy Keane has tipped Liverpool to beat Chelsea and win their first FA Cup under Jurgen Klopp in May.
Liverpool have been in rampant form heading into the business end of the season. They have already clinched the Carabao Cup in February, beating Chelsea on penalties and are still in contention for three more trophies.
Having narrowly beaten Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday, Liverpool will face Chelsea at Wembley in the final on May 14th. The Reds are currently the favourites to lift a trophy they are yet to win in Klopp’s regime.
Meanwhile, Chelsea beat Crystal Palace comfortably on Sunday after goals from Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mason Mount decided the clash. The Blues and the Merseysiders have been familiar foes over the last two decades and will face each other in a second cup final this season.
Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has had his say on the outcome of the Wembley Final. Speaking in ITV Sport (h/t HITC), the pundit insisted that Liverpool are too strong to be beaten by any team, let alone Chelsea while suggesting the Blues lack the sharpness needed to win the trophy.
Keane said, “If any team’s going to beat Liverpool this season it’ll have to be some effort. The feel good factor, the quality of the players. They look sharp, they look strong, great squad, great manager, they’ll take a lot of stopping. [Chelsea are] Not as sharp or as strong or Liverpool.”
Stepping away from the FA Cup Final, Liverpool are still in contention for the Premier League title, sitting a point behind leaders Manchester City. They dropped points to Guardiola’s side at the Etihad in their last league game. Meanwhile, they are also hunting for a seventh Champions League crown as they face Villarreal in a two-legged semi-final affair.
Jurgen Klopp’s team have been in red-hot form since the turn of the year and will take some stopping in the remainder of the campaign. With the quadruple very much on the horizon, the players and the manager will give it all to make history this season.
