Real Madrid shrugged off the disappointment of their Copa Del Rey elimination midweek as they cruised to a 3-0 win over Real Sociedad on Sunday.
Real Madrid took advantage of their title rivals Barcelona and Sevilla slipping up earlier in the day as they overcame 10-man Real Sociedad 3-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu to establish a four-point lead at the top of the La Liga table.
The win didn’t come easy, though, as Zinedine Zidane’s side struggled to create many chances in the first half an hour, to then be greeted by jeers by the Real Madrid faithful. However, Mateo Kovacic broke the deadlock as he finished coolly from Cristiano Ronaldo’s through ball in the 38th minute.
Real Madrid picked up the tempo in the second half, and the favour was returned by Kovacic soon after as he put Ronaldo clean through on goal this time, with the Portuguese superstar delightfully chipping Rulli to double the advantage, before Alvaro Morata rounded off the win to make it 3-0.
