Real Madrid returned to winning ways on Sunday as they comfortably beat Las Palmas 3-0 at the Bernabeu, maintaining their eight-point deficit to Barcelona.

The hosts created plenty of chances in the early stages of the match, with Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo coming close to ending their respective droughts. The deadlock, though, was finally broken in the 41st minute, when Casemiro headed in from a corner.

Zinedine Zidane’s men then went on to punish the visitors further in the second half, first through Marco Asensio, who drove home a long-range screamer before Isco rounded the win off with 15 minutes to go as he calmly finished from Ronaldo’s goal. And, the Spaniard was the toast of the supporters after another impressive outing.

Asensio was lauded for his performance as well, after his long-range screamer set up a comfortable win for Real Madrid.

But, the frustrations surrounding Karim Benzema are mounting with each passing game, but Ronaldo was hailed even though his drought continued on the night.
