Rasmus Hojlund hails world class Marcus Rashford

Rasmus Hojlund described his 25-year-old teammate Marcus Rashford as ‘ world-class’ and clarified reports of ‘secret’ training sessions.

Manchester United fans would have hoped for a better start to their season, although recent results have provided some encouragement for the future. Erik ten Hag is already under tremendous pressure for some of the performances. The Red Devils are already eight points behind league leaders Tottenham and Arsenal.

Ten Hag did solve one problem during the summer window by signing Rasmus Hojlund, and many have already tipped him to have a good season. The Danish striker has received praise for his style of play and the impact he’s had since joining the club.

However, the Dane has yet to open his account in the Premier League but has already scored thrice in the Champions League. Manchester United lost both those games against Bayern Munich and Galatasary to remain bottom of the group.

While Hojlund seems to be living his dream at Manchester United, one player who continues to struggle is Marcus Rashford. The Dane’s 25-year-old teammate has not produced the goods this season, with Roy Keane calling him a ‘child’ earlier in the campaign.

Hojlund, though, believes Rashford is ‘world class’. He’s already looking forward towards a glowing partnership with his 25-year-old teammate in the future. With the England international committing to his future, the pair could begin a long-lasting partnership.

Speaking to the Danish media ahead of Denmark’s international games, Hojlund commented on many subjects. He spoke about Rashford and clarified rumours about a ‘secret’ training session some outlets had reported. His comments appeared on Tipsbladet, where he praised his ‘world-class’ 25-year-old teammate Rashford.

Hojlund said, “I think it is badly translated from English to Danish. We haven’t had secret training sessions. We have only talked at training sessions, where we have tried to find each other’s patterns.”

“I really like playing with him. He is a world class soccer player. I enjoy playing with a player like him.”

Surely, there’s plenty more to come from the pair, especially Hojlund in a Manchester United shirt. For now, he will take the international break as time away from the pressure of the Premier League. He will look to help Denmark during the latest round of international fixtures.

Rashford has come under tremendous pressure for his performances this season. He, too, will relish the time away from a toxic environment at club level. The 25-year-old will hope things get better for Manchester United and himself on the pitch when they return to action.
