Kevin Campbell has backed Paulo Dybala to be a success at Liverpool if the Merseysiders decide to approach the Juventus attacker.

This season, Paulo Dybala has come back into form after a difficult period dealing with injuries. The Argentine attacker has become a key part of Massimilano Allegri’s plans at Juventus this term, although a slight contractual issue lingers as a matter of concern.

Fabrizio Romano recently suggested that Dybala and Juventus have a verbal agreement over a new five-year deal. However, with nothing signed on the dotted line yet, speculation is beginning to circle around his future at the club.

Liverpool are already linked with a move for the 28-year-old, as Jurgen Klopp could prefer to add him to the attacking ranks. Dybala’s quality will certainly attract the attention of many big clubs in world football, and the Reds could surely be one of those sides.

Klopp has been eyeing a reliable wide attacker, with Dybala a viable target as he can play in such positions. He could certainly provide a different dimension to their attacking line, or as Kevin Campbell suggests, the Argentine can unlock teams that ‘sit back’.

If, between now and the start of January, Juventus are unable to extend Dybala’s deal, there may be many offers forthcoming for the Argentine, and the Italian side will be forced to cash in. Barcelona are also interested in him, as the Spanish giants could see him as a long-sought replacement for Lionel Messi.

However, Campbell insists Dybala could be perfect for Liverpool, giving them a different dimension in attack. Speaking to Football Insider, the former striker said the Argentine is suited for the Reds as he provides the key to unlock teams that like to sit behind while backing Dybala to succeed at Merseyside.

Campbell said, “He’s a top quality player. He can add something different to that Liverpool squad. He’s able to operate in such tight spaces, so he’d be very well suited to the Premier League, for me. I think he would add another edge to that Liverpool side.”

“They would be able to play a different style when teams sit back, because they’ll have someone in their side who can really unlock defences and make things happen. Right now, they’re relying on the counter-attack.”

Whether Liverpool can sign Dybala in the January transfer window will depend greatly on Juventus’s ability to get him to sign the dotted line. For now, the Argentine’s long-term future remains up in the air, with a move to Anfield a distinct possibility.
