Former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson cannot see Tottenham and Chelsea do business regarding links with Trevoh Chalobah.
Paul Robinson has commented on Tottenham’s persistent links to Trevoh Chalobah. The 24-year-old utility man at Chelsea has no future at Stamford Bridge, with the Blues open to a sale when the January window opens.
Trevoh Chalobah was close to leaving Chelsea in the summer but rejected a £25 million move to Nottingham Forest as Bayern Munich were also interested in signing him. Rumours also linked him to Tottenham around deadline day, but he remained at Stamford Bridge.
Recently, Bayern Mucnich cooled their interest after the 24-year-old utility man suffered another setback in his quest to return. As things stand, Chalobah will miss the remainder of 2023, as the defender is now expected to come back into training in early January.
Tottenham have also abandoned their chase of the defender after more reports emerged about Chalobah. Chelsea are well stocked in positions the 24-year-old usually plays, meaning they could cash in and re-invest that money on other targets, namely a striker in January.
🚨 Sources remain confident Trevoh Chalobah will seal his exit in the coming months as he is keen to embark on a new challenge. Chelsea, however, could be forced to slash their asking price in order to secure a buyer.#CFC

To further complicate Tottenham’s links with Chalobah, former keeper Paul Robinson insists he cannot see the two clubs doing business over a player. The Former Three Lions star told Football Insider that he could not see the two London rivals engaging in transfer talks and instead pointed at other names for Spurs to consider.
Robinson said, “I think Chalobah has still got a lot to prove in his career. He won’t go to Tottenham, though, because the two clubs don’t do business. Historically, and more in the past, the two clubs just don’t do business together.”
“There are going to be players who fall foul at Chelsea, and at his age – he’ll want to play football. These players are sometimes going to top clubs around Europe. Look at Fikayo Tomori; he’s playing at the top level. “It can be good for players like Chalobah who play with a different style. I just can’t see him at Tottenham.”
Tottenham will enter January to strengthen their squad in multiple areas. While they are keen on an attacking star, Ange Postecoglou will surely want a new centre-back in his ranks. The idea of signing Chalobah would have appealed to the Australian for his ability to play multiple positions.
Several reports have repeatedly pointed at interested sides cooling their interest in Chalobah, and that might be it for the defender in January. Chelsea will hope his fitness issues have not diminished his valuation in the market, but most likely, that appears the case, as clubs could target to knock the price down for the 24-year-old utility man.
