There have been several questions raised about Anthony Martial’s future at Manchester United. The Frenchman hasn’t really been given much of a run in by Jose Mourinho.
But, that could all change after the Portuguese boss handed Martial a rare start, and the attacker responded with aplomb. He recorded a goal and an assist as United ran out comfortable 2-0 winners against Watford.
Martial had a hand in both the goals, as aforementioned, and in general ran riot as he eased past defenders while also looking very intent on proving himself.
His performance and subsequent performance was received with much positivity and cheer among the United fans, who took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

Above all, Martial’s gesture of patting the club’s badge as he wheeled away in celebration after scoring his goal, was the talk of Twitter for the Red Devils’ faithfuls.

Martial patting our badge, hugging Mourinho when he was subbed – and SMILING when he scored. Yea I said it – SMILING. Looks unhappy? Nahhhh

But, perhaps the one reaction that took the cake was Mourinho’s after Martial scores.

Let’s hope this turns a new leaf for Martial at Manchester United in the new and ushering Mourinho era.
