Manchester City continued their mesmerising winning run on Sunday as they enjoyed a comfortable 3-1 win over Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium.
Pep Guardiola’s men dominated the proceedings for the most part, with chances coming few and far between for the Gunners. Kevin De Bruyne put the hosts ahead in the 19th minute, before Sergio Aguero converted from the spot as Arsenal felt hard done by for the penalty call going against them.
The visitors did pull one back midway through the second half through substitute Alexandre Lacazette, but their comeback hopes were short lived when Gabriel Jesus scored another contentious goal, with David Silva clearly offside in the buildup. And, Arsenal fans did not shy away from pointing out the refereeing errors.
Every call from Wenger was on point today except not starting Lacazette. 2 wrong referee decisions lost arsenal the game

Wenger bottled some decisions today, yep, but doesn’t mean I can’t moan about the wrong decisions the referee made, they’re not correlated.

But, Arsene Wenger received his fair share of tirade from the Arsenal supporters as well, particularly for his decision to not start Alexandre Lacazette.
Lacazette 125mins per goal in PL, Lukaku 141mins per goal. Yet Wenger has benched Laca vs. Liverpool and Man City. Why?

How to football, by Arsene Wenger:
1. Make weird team selection
2. Hope for the best
3. Say you’ll learn from mistakes
4. Sign extension— Arsenal Report (@ArsenalReport) November 5, 2017
Why Lacazette didn’t start today makes no sense. Really don’t get Wenger ??♂️

FT Man City 3-1 Arsenal
Passed to death & completely outclassed in every department, but Wenger will blame the referee. pic.twitter.com/CzM1L1ewwH— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) November 5, 2017
We are 12 points behind after 11 games. And people still support a man who is tactically inept? I am honestly done. Wenger is finished. ???

Dropping Lacazette backfired against Liverpool, dropping him backfired again today
Shouldn’t happen again, but I bet you it will
— Bergkamp & Bergkamp (@Orangeiceman10) November 5, 2017
So keeping Lacazette on the bench and bringing him on when we’re 2 goals down was the plan or what? I’m confused.

Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez copped a lot of flak as well, as the duo failed to create much of an impact.
Alexis Sanchez is an absolute disgrace
I don’t care if he is world class
The way he is acting he doesn’t deserve to wear the shirt— MUTCHARSENAL (@MUTCHARSENAL) November 5, 2017
Arsenal played against (Man City + officials + Alexis + Ozil). We had no chance.
— Mohamed ElNneny (@ElNnenyM) November 5, 2017
Sanchez is sometimes a terrible footballer, he wants to do everything alone when he can just pass, when he decides to pass he gives it away
— Mr. Jack Robinson (@jackdre02) November 5, 2017
Signing Ozil was fun, huge moment, made us believe we could compete, won us trophies, but I’ve no interest in watching him play for us again.
— S (@wood10_) November 5, 2017
Forget the ref mistakes..we are just not good enough..something has got to change..and we should have just sold Alexis and Ozil last window
— Olayinka (@ykgunnerz) November 5, 2017
One Daily Mail or Daily Mirror reporter is going to give Sanchez a 7/10 today and say “his teammates should have worked as hard as him”
— Nnamdi Obinwanne (@obisingledigit) November 5, 2017
This may be controversial but I would not play Mesut Ozil or Alexis Sanchez again this season
Let the both of them rot in the reserves— MUTCHARSENAL (@MUTCHARSENAL) November 5, 2017
Alexis Sanchez may as well be wearing a blue shirt. That is disgraceful.
