Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp’s agent has revealed that clubs such as Chelsea and Manchester United were interested in him after he left the Premier League champions.
Jurgen Klopp is currently in an official role with the Red Bull Group, and it will be interesting to see whether he is willing to return to management in the future. According to his agent via ESPN, Chelsea and Manchester United approached the 58-year-old regarding the managerial position after his departure from Liverpool.
Kosicke said, “Maybe at some point he’ll say he needs to smell the locker room again. But at the moment, he’s very, very happy in his role. Before joining Red Bull, Jürgen could have coached the United States or England. Probably also Germany, if Julian Nagelsmann hadn’t already been there.
“Even Chelsea and Manchester United inquired, although Jürgen had clearly stated that he would not coach any other club in England. These inquiries keep coming. He’s extremely happy with what he’s achieved. And it’s still wonderful to go down in history as one of the few coaches who only managed three clubs and were never fired.”
Jurgen Klopp did an exceptional job at Liverpool, helping them bounce back strongly. Liverpool won the Premier League title and the UEFA Champions League, among other trophies, under his guidance. It is no surprise that Chelsea and Manchester United were keen on appointing him as their manager.
Chelsea and Manchester United need someone like Klopp
Chelsea have not won the Premier League title in recent seasons, and they will be desperate to bounce back strongly. They will look to return to the top of English football, and having a world-class manager like Klopp would be ideal.
Similarly, Manchester United have not been able to compete for the Premier League or the UEFA Champions League since Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure. They need a top-class manager to help them get back to the top of English football once again.
The 58-year-old German manager has also been linked with clubs like Real Madrid. Klopp is one of the finest managers of his generation, and it is no surprise that he is being linked with all these clubs. It will be interesting to see if any of these clubs decide to make a move for him in the future as well.
The former Liverpool boss has been linked with the return to management, and it remains to be seen how the situation develops. Meanwhile, there have been rumours of a potential return to Liverpool.
Arne Slot has not been able to get the best out of his team this season, and Liverpool might miss out on a top-four finish. They might need to make changes in the summer, and bringing the 58-year-old back to Anfield would be exceptional.
