Chelsea invested in a couple of quality strikers in the summer, but they continue to struggle in the final third.
Chelsea have now been urged to sign Victor Osimhen by his compatriot John Obi Mikel. The player has been linked with a move to the Premier League before. There is no doubt that the Nigerian international is one of the best attacking players in European football, and he could prove an excellent addition to Chelsea.
He has shown his quality in France and Italy before joining Galatasaray. He has been outstanding for the Turkish outfit as well. There is no doubt that he deserves to compete at a higher level and play for one of the best clubs in the world.
The potential opportunity to move to Chelsea would be quite exciting for the player as well. The 27-year-old has scored 12 goals in 16 games this season, and there is no doubt that he would be an upgrade on some of Chelsea’s current options.
Chelsea told to sign Osimhen
Former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has urged the West London outfit to sign his compatriot. It remains to be seen whether Chelsea are prepared to make a move for him in the near future. The inconsistencies of the Blues’ strikers may be the reason why Enzo Fernandez, a midfielder, is continuously a top FPL recommendation.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Obi Mikel urged his team to sign the Nigerian forward: “Victor Osimhen. He can stretch the play, he can run behind, he can come short, he can score goals, he can do everything,” he said before adding, “You need that experienced striker who’s been there, done it, knows how to win big games, knows how to score in big games, knows how to be in the right place at the right time.”
There is no doubt that Chelsea have the financial muscle to get the deal across the line. Although the Turkish club will not want to lose him, they could be tempted to sell if there is a great proposal on the table.
Also, the Nigerian striker, who reached the Africa Cup of Nations semi-final with his national side, could be tempted to join a Premier League club, and he could force a move to Chelsea if there is a concrete offer on the table.
