Ibrahima Konate revealed his dream to play for Paris Saint-Germain one day, but currently, he appears content with life at Liverpool.

Liverpool made an astute decision to spend significantly on a young defender from RB Leipzig and brought in Ibrahima Konate. At a relatively low age compared to his defensive teammates at Merseyside, the 24-year-old Liverpool star has made good progress under Jurgen Klopp and become a significant player.

Klopp has relied on and trusted Konate with defensive work as per his specifications, and the Frenchman has not disappointed so far. The 24-year-old Liverpool star is already a starter for Didier Deschamps’ France side and secretly hopes he plays with more national team stars.

By that, he revealed a dream that involves playing for Paris Saint-Germain in the future. Why? Because he feels the Parisians are creating a culture where there are lots of French players in the same club as well as the national side.

His comments appeared on Sports Bible via Canal+, where he insisted it was a dream to play for PSG one day. He made his reasons clear but did not hint at wanting to move there immediately, which suggests he’s pleased at Liverpool.

Konate said, “If I said no, I’d be lying, but if you’re asking, is it one of my objectives? Not at all.”

“PSG has made sure to recruit players who understand each other well and who play with each other for the France national team.

“It’s what they’ve been waiting for for years, having Parisian players or at least French players in the team.”

Konate’s performances have already landed the interest of many big clubs. Even Saudi side Al Ittihad are chasing him and ready to offer him a lucrative contract. However, Konate remains an integral part of Liverpool’s side for the present and future.

Liverpool are already planning on reshaping their defence and keeping Konate on the forefront of their ideas. They are keen to bring in new defenders, with Sporting CP’s Goncalo Inacio a target for Jurgen Klopp. Similarly, they have other players on their list as well, but those plans do not involve seeing the back of Konate.

Surely, Konate and other French international stars will dream of signing for PSG, who have recently adopted new ideas that saw them recruit more French internationals. Ousmane Dembele, Lucas Hernandez and Randal Kolo Muani all arrived during the summer, with emerging star Warren Zaire-Emery and superstar Kylian Mbappe already here.
