Germany thrashed Norway to stay on top of Group C and maintain their 100% winning record in World Cup 2018 qualifying matches.

World champions Germany were in rampant mood, as they thumped Norway 6-0 in a 2018 World Cup qualifier on Monday evening. The home side broke the deadlock after 10 minutes courtesy of a thumping strike from Mesut Ozil. The lead was doubled 7 minutes later as Julian Draxler slotted into the bottom corner from close range.

Germany continued their dominance and went on to grab a third goal in the 21st minute with Timo Werner scoring for the second straight game. Werner then got his second and Germany’s fourth just before the halftime break when he turned home Thomas Muller’s cross.

Five minutes into the second half, Germany bagged a fifth goal as Leon Goretzka slotted home from close range. Joachim Low’s charges then rounded off the win when Joshua Kimmich’s cross found Mario Gomez. THT takes a look at some of the best tweets over the course of the match:

Fans were quick to heap praise on Mesut Ozil for his sheer brilliance on the field.

Thomas Muller and Timo Werner were also quite talked about across Twitter for their worthy contributions for Germany.
