Gary Neville draws Roberto Firmino comparisons with Kai Havertz

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has now likened Arsenal attacker Kai Havertz to Roberto Firmino.

Roberto Firmino was an exceptional player for Liverpool during his time at Liverpool, and he helped them win every major trophy during his time at Anfield, and Manchester United legend Gary Neville feels that Kai Havertz reminds him of the Liverpool icon.

“Havertz is doing a similar thing to the thing that Firmino did at Liverpool,” the Manchester United legend said in his podcast. “A little bit where he drops in, he links the play, he is providing a goal threat, but he is subservient to the team.

“He will do whatever the team needs in a game. You remember for large parts of the season, there were large question marks over Kai Havertz, but he has become a really important figure.

“I used to think that Firmino was a wonderful player for Liverpool, and obviously Mane and Salah used to get sort of all the plaudits and the main credit, and that’s right, but I used to always mention Firmino because of the way he played, just connecting midfield into the attack, and Havertz is doing something similar.”

Can Kai Havertz guide Arsenal to the title?

The Arsenal attacker, who cost the Gunners around £65 million, has been quite impressive since joining the North London club. The German international has established himself as a key player for Arsenal, and he is one of the main reasons why they are pushing for the league title this season.

Havertz is more than just a goalscorer, and his ability to bring others into the play and create goalscoring opportunities make him a unique option for the North London club. He has 13 goals and seven assists in all competitions this season and will look to guide Arsenal to the league title this season.

Former Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino had the unique ability to operate anywhere across the front three, and the Brazilian was a hybrid between a striker and her playmaker. Firmino and his unique qualities in the final third set him apart, and Havertz has been playing a similar role for Arsenal.

When the German international arrived for £65 million from Chelsea, his transfer was questioned because of the lack of goals in his game. However, the German international has now turned himself into an indispensable asset for the club, and he has shown just how vital he can be to the Arsenal attack.

Roberto Firmino helped Liverpool win the Premier League title and the UEFA Champions League trophy during his time at the club. It will be interesting to see if the Arsenal star can follow in his footsteps and make a lasting impact in the history of the North London outfit.
