The North Londoners came close to winning the league title last season, but Manchester City managed to overtake them eventually. Arsenal will be hoping to go all the way this time around, and they have certainly started the season well.
Gary Neville believes that Manchester City could have a stumble in the coming months and that Arsenal could take advantage of their slip-up. The former Manchester United defender added that the Gunners would not be able to compete with Manchester City without Rice in the middle of the park. His combative presence and drive have added a new dimension to the Arsenal side this season.
“Probably. I think he is a big influence Declan Rice. That power, that drive. They’ve got brilliant players City anyway. But taking him out of Arsenal makes a huge difference, they wouldn’t be good enough. With him in it he can be a difference player and he gives them a real chance. I’m predicting City might have a bit of a stumble this season and I suspect Arsenal get it right this season.”
