Federico Pastorello, the agent of Romelu Lukaku, has revealed the forward’s dream of joining Real Madrid.
During an interview with Telegraph, Federico Pastorello, the agent of Romelu Lukaku, spoke at length about his client’s transfer situation prior to his return to Stamford Bridge this summer. The Italian representative has offered many useful insights, including the interest from Manchester City last summer as well as the forward’s dream to join Real Madrid.
Lukaku made the headlines earlier this summer when he returned to Stamford Bridge for a club-record fee of €115 million. He was coming on the back of a successful stint at Inter Milan that saw him 64 goals in 95 competitive appearances, winning the Scudetto in the process.
The Belgian’s representative, Pastorello, has recently revealed his influence on convincing the striker to make the move to Chelsea. “I had to tell him to remember that sometimes there are trains and when they pass, they don’t come back. Because of the situation, because of the market and because there were not many possibilities, this was Romelu’s train.
“We had the opportunity to be in the right place at the right moment, and I told him that if he wanted to come back, he needed to take it now,” Pastorello told Telegraph in an exclusive interview.
A star agent in the P&P Sport Management Group that also handles the likes Andrej Kramaric and Demarai Gray, the Italian had known Lukaku since 2017. He had played a vital role in brokering the forward’s €75 million move to Inter Milan in the first place.
Pastorello further revealed that Lukaku had dreamt of returning to Chelsea in 2017 when he first met the player. But in addition to the Blues, the Belgian also had the ambition of joining Real Madrid.
“Romelu was incredibly happy in Milan, he loves the supporters, he loves the city, he loves the club. But, on the other side, he was always dreaming of coming back to Chelsea. I knew this in 2017, he said there were two clubs that were his dream – Chelsea and Real Madrid,” he said.
