Douglas Sousa has shut down widespread rumours linking Real Madrid with his son Endrick, claiming they do not have a preference for his next club yet.
As quoted by 90min, Douglas Sousa has had his say on his son’s future. He has said that despite links with Real Madrid and other bigwigs, Endrick does not have a preference for his next club yet, thus shutting down widespread rumours about his future.
Douglas Sousa said, “There’s nothing decided for Real Madrid or any other club. We’ve no preference yet. We’ll decide in the next months, the club that will pay what Palmeiras want and show us the best technical project for Endrick, will sign the boy.”
Endrick has become one of the hottest properties in the world since his exploits at the Copinha. The 16-year-old has been strutting his stuff alongside players much older than him. And Endrick has made such remarkable and quick progress that he is already a member of the Palmeiras first-team squad.
The Brazilian wonderkid has amassed three goals and one assist in five appearances in all competitions. In doing so, Endrick has become the second-youngest scorer in the history of the Brazilian top flight and Palmeiras’s youngest of all time. And the player’s exploits have captured the attention of several European bigwigs, including Real Madrid.

The reigning La Liga champions are renowned for foraying into the Brazilian market for the brightest young prospects. Such an outlook has fetched them current first-team stalwarts like Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes. And Endrick is the latest prodigy to emerge on Real Madrid’s radar.
Recent reports have claimed that the Merengues are preparing an offer to sign the in-demand whizkid. And with Karim Benzema approaching the final phase of his glittering career, it is clear why Real Madrid might look to sign someone like Endrick.
Bringing in the 16-year-old will set Real Madrid up for years, creating an all-Brazilian offensive unit. But Douglas Sousa has shut down widespread rumours linking Endrick with several European powerhouses, including Los Blancos. It will be interesting to see what will happen when Real Madrid will step up interest in him further.
