David Seaman insists Cristiano Ronaldo would be ‘perfect’ for Arsenal after the striker departed Manchester United.

Cristiano Ronaldo continues to make huge headlines amid plenty of speculation surrounding his immediate future. While the Portuguese international currently represents his nation at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, the media will continue to link him with various projects elsewhere.

After a few weeks of explosive revelations following Ronaldo’s interview with Piers Morgan, much has changed regarding his future. Once the feud with Manchester United became clear, no one expected Ronaldo to play again for the club.

Manchester United confirmed they had parted ways with Ronaldo in the aftermath of the interview. Fabrizio Romano insisted the player did not take a pay-off from the club, which saved the Red Devils around £17 million.

While he concluded one chapter on English football, the doors to another might open after the World Cup. While teams like Chelsea and Newcastle Unite reportedly distanced themselves from a move, there are hardly few clubs who might take an interest.

Bayern Munich were reportedly keen at some stage, but the club hierarchy have repeatedly moved away from speculation linking with Ronaldo. The Portuguese attacker is keen on joining a side playing in the Champions League, so the options are few and far.

Former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman has urged his former side to take the chances with Ronaldo and sign him in January. Seaman’s comments appeared in the Daily Mail, where he gave his take on the Ronaldo debacle and suggested he would be ‘perfect’ for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Seaman said the following on the Ronaldo case, “I would applaud him because he’s obviously talking the truth. A lot of the stuff he came out with, is not the stuff we haven’t heard.”

“We have heard a lot of other experienced players moaning and criticising Man United for the way the ground is and the training.”

“That shocked me, and that shouldn’t be happening. He’s been all around the world and seen how everywhere has progressed, and he comes back to his beloved Man United, and nothing has changed.”

Further, when asked whether the striker would fit Arsenal, he said, “Ronaldo is far from done, and he would be perfect for Arsenal.”

Piers Morgan fueled the whole Ronaldo-to-Arsenal story after the interview. The TV personality spoke about the idea on many different channels, where he got invited to discuss the Portuguese attacker’s situation.

Many fans are now picking on the idea that Ronaldo could help Arsenal push for the Premier League title. In truth, it is highly unlikely to see Arteta let go of the idea of a recent re-build and sign a player of Ronaldo’s stature and age.
