Darren Bent believes Manchester United could be the ideal destination for Harry Kane, but the player’s price could be a hindrance.

As quoted by talkSPORT, former Tottenham striker Darren Bent feels Harry Kane should next move to Manchester United. But a potentially eye-watering £100 million price tag could pose a problem for his suitors.

Tottenham’s recent dip in form has not had any effect on Kane’s performance as the 29-year-old has already hit ten goals in the Premier League and is second only after Erling Haaland in the Golden Boot race.

Despite spending so much time at Spurs, the lack of a trophy is still hurting the player. And Kane might opt to rethink his future next summer if the current drought extends. The England captain will turn 30 next year. And if he does not change his current stance, his options for getting a lucrative contract at other clubs would be very thin.

Time is running out for the Englishman, who seems to be entangled in a major confusion. Tottenham’s fate in the UEFA Champions League is hanging over a thread following their latest stalemate. And their recent erratic performances in the top flight could change Kane’s desire to finish his career at the North London club.

Manchester United have been searching for a potential goal poacher, with Kane among their targets. And who could be better than the English marksman to solve their goal crisis? He is tailor-made for Erik ten Hag’s system, and his arrival could change the whole scenario at Old Trafford.

Manchester United’s recent trophy drought has been quite long. But Darren Bent is pretty confident Kane’s long wait for lifting a trophy could be fulfilled should he choose to join Manchester United.

Bent said, “United would be perfect, they need a centre-forward. So that makes sense. I’m not convinced he’ll leave. One, Harry loves the football club. Two, someone’s got to sum up the money. It was pretty clear last season that he wanted to leave.”

“Man City were the ones pressing the issue, clearly they never came up with enough money and it’s believed they bid £140m but didn’t get him. They clearly believed that he was worth it, but Spurs thought he was worth more. Spurs are a club where if you don’t hit the price they want, you’re not going anywhere.”

On being asked what would be the price tag of the Spurs talisman, the former Tottenham striker answered, “I still think around £100m. There’s no way Daniel Levy will let him walk out for £60m. He could have two weeks left on his contract, Daniel Levy will still want £100m.”

It will be interesting to see if Kane becomes a top target for Manchester United. The Red Devils also have other strikers on their radar, like Jonathan David. But Kane is settled in the Premier League, and the Tottenham talisman can make an immediate impact at Old Trafford.
