Darren Bent has drawn comparisons between Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford and Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Darren Bent claimed that Marcus Rashford is not a world-class footballer because of his lack of consistency, while in comparison, Bukayo Saka is a lot more consistent and much better than the Manchester United star.

According to Bent, the Manchester United attacker has a tendency to go missing quite often as opposed to Saka, who tends to influence games on a more consistent basis.

“We saw Rashford have a purple patch after the weekend where he was unstoppable,’ he said before adding, “But too often over the last two years, he’d have a period where he’s hot and then goes missing. Goes hot and then goes missing. You need someone who’s consistent. So when people talk about world-class – not for me. No way.”

It will be interesting to see if Rashford can add more consistency to his game in the coming months. He showed his quality last season, scoring 30 goals across all competitions. There is no doubt that the England international is an exceptional player who can be unstoppable on his day.

He will need to iron out the inconsistency issues in his game so that he can fulfil his tremendous potential. As far as Saka is concerned, the Arsenal winger has been outstanding for the Gunners over the past year, and he helped his club challenge for the title. He will look to continue his development with regular football in the coming months and develop into a world-class player.

Saka has proven himself to be one of the best attacking players in the Premier League, and he is only going to get better with coaching and experience. If he can continue to influence games on a consistent basis as he has done so far, he will certainly be regarded as a world-class player soon.

In addition to that, Saka has the ability to influence games even if he is not getting on the score sheet. The Arsenal winger has the ability to fashion out chances for his teammates. Rashford is more of a goal scorer, and he will need to find the back of the net regularly in order to influence games.
