Chelsea sent transfer advice by Ruud Gullit

Chelsea have received transfer advice from former star Ruud Gullit.

The former Netherlands International has urged the player to control the game better, and he feels they have been rushing things lately.

Gullit claims that Chelsea need to sign a player who can retain the ball and build a game patiently. It will be interesting to see if they decide to sign a quality central midfielder who can stitch the play together at the end of the season.

There is no doubt that they have a quality team at their disposal, but they have been quite inconsistent because of their failure to control games. They need someone who can help them dominate the contest in the middle of the park.

“Chelsea are a little bit too frantic for my liking,” Gullit exclusively told TEAMtalk. There’s no player or leader of reference in that team who gives them a little bit of peace or holds the ball without giving it away – that’s something that they lack a little bit. It’s all too nervous on the pitch when they play.

“You don’t always need to attack when you have the ball. Sometimes you can lure the opposition out of position and then punish them, but they don’t have that patience or willingness to hold the ball. It’s as if they’re always playing at 100 miles an hour. It’s too much, in my opinion.”

Can Chelsea add the right players?

The Blues currently have Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo at their disposal. They should look to bring in another midfielder who can anchor the midfield and recycle possession.

Chelsea have a quality team, and they will be hoping to fight for major trophies. If they can plug the gaps in their squad during the upcoming window, there is no reason why they cannot fight with elite clubs next season.

It will be interesting to see if they can finish the current season strongly and secure a place in the UEFA Champions League next season. Finishing in the top four will be imperative if they want to sign top-quality players in the summer.
