Having gone down early in the game, Chelsea bounced back strongly to trounce Cardiff City 4-1 at the Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Chelsea extended their 100% record in the 2018-19 Premier League as they came back from a goal down to beat newly promoted Cardiff City 4-1.

The Bluebirds, chasing their first win of the campaign, were ahead just sixteen minutes into the game through defender Sol Bamba through a clever set-piece routine. Twenty minutes later Chelsea reinstated parity through Eden Hazard’s strike, after being set up by Olivier Giroud. The pair combined again on the verge of half-time, with the Belgian slotting it past Neil Etheridge to put the Blues ahead.

Following the restart, the game hung in balance with Cardiff showing more attacking intent, but Hazard put the result beyond a doubt when he coolly converted his penalty in the 80th minute to complete his hat-trick. Substitute Willian then scoreda fourth immediately after to add more sheen to the scoreline.

The win meant Maurizio Sarri’s men jumped to the top of the Premier League table, ahead of rivals Liverpool on goal difference. And the fans couldn’t stop raving about the team’s performance on social media, with many believing that the title was coming to the Stamford Bridge this season;

It was Eden Hazard that stole the show with another scintillating display that lit up the Stamford Bridge on Saturday. The Belgian wing wizard now has five goals and two assists in five league games in the season.
