Atletico Madrid went into the game as heavy favourites against Leicester City in the first-leg of the Quarter Finals of the UEFA Champions League.

But, the Vicente Calderon were witnessed to a solid defensive display by both teams and Los Rojiblancos only managed to edge the Foxes, thanks to a penalty, which was ably converted by Antoine Griezmann.

The penalty ensured Atletico Madrid will travel to England with a 1-goal advantage, having conceded no away goals either.

Antoine Griezmann was again the star of the show and the player was hailed on Twitter for his influence on the match.

However, Leicester City proved tough to break down once again in the Champions League and the Foxes were praised for keeping the scoreline to a minimum, which gives them a chance going into the second leg of the tie. Some also lamented on the penalty call, which was dubious, according to many.

However, it was the behaviour of the travelling fans that took some limelight away from the tie, with Leicester City supporters causing a ruckus in the streets of Spain, clashing with the police, actions which were vehemently criticised on Twitter.

While Leicester City failed to have much of an impact, Wilfred Ndidi, who has been earning plaudits for his displays, was lauded as he put in an impressive shift again in the middle of the park.

There were some other brilliant tweets about the game.
