Predicted Chelsea lineup against Manchester United: Garnacho to start; Gusto back on the bench

Alejandro Garnacho will make his first start for Chelsea when they take on Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Chelsea will aim to return to winning ways when they lock horns with Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday evening. Enzo has no new injury concerns to worry about ahead of his side’s latest fixture.

Levi Colwill is the most notable absentee, with the homegrown defender recovering from a long-term knee injury. The English international accompanies Benoit Badiashile (muscular), Romeo Lavia (knock), Dario Essugo (hamstring), and Liam Delap (thigh) in the treatment room.

Additionally, Mykhailo Mudryk remains unavailable after failing a doping test several months ago. Meanwhile, during his pre-match press conference, Maresca discussed Palmer’s fitness and the possibility of using Marc Guiu this weekend.

The Chelsea manager said, “Yes, Cole is okay. We have a training session now where we will look at the players. We fley back yesterday [from Munich], so we need to assess some of the guys before we make a decision for the weekend.”

“We haven’t had a session since the game on Wednesday, we have some doubts but we will see after today’s training session. Marc Guiu is back and the reason why he is back is because we intend to use him. He is a good player and while he needs to do things better and can still improve, we know what Marc can offer us. For sure, we are going to use him.”

Despite Maresca’s words, Guiu will not start against Manchester United, with Joao Pedro leading the line for Chelsea. Cole Palmer will reprise the no. 10 role, with Pedro Neto lining up on the right flank. Alejandro Garnacho will make his first start for the Blues, featuring on the left wing against his former club.

As for the midfield unit, there is no looking past Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez in the double pivot. Finally, Robert Sanchez is an automatic pick between the sticks, and the away side’s backline should feature Reece James, Trevoh Chalobah, Tosin Adarabioyo, and Marc Cucurella.

Predicted Chelsea XI: Sanchez; James, Chalobah, Tosin Adarabioyo, Cucurella; Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez; Neto, Palmer, Garnacho; Joao Pedro
