Predicted Liverpool lineup against Wolves: Alexander-Arnold to return; Gakpo misses out

Trent Alexander-Arnold will return to the Liverpool starting lineup against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield on Sunday.

Arsenal are just four points adrift of Liverpool, and the table-toppers cannot afford to keep dropping points at this stage of the season. The Merseyside outfit will look to win the Premier League title, and they need to start putting together a winning run.

Liverpool will certainly fancy their chances against Wolves when the two sides face off at Anfield on Sunday afternoon. However, the home side cannot afford to be complacent. Meanwhile, will be without Joe Gomez (hamstring) and Tyler Morton (shoulder) due to their respective injuries.

In addition, Curtis Jones is suspended after picking up a second yellow card against Everton earlier this week. MeanwhileTrent Alexander-Arnold returned to action in the last game, and he is expected to start here.

However, the participation of Cody Gakpo remains a doubt. During his pre-match press conference, Arne Slot confirmed that the Dutch international attacjer picked up a knock and that he might not be a starter against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Slot said, “Cody is a bit of a doubt as well, so let’s wait [to see] how he is today. I had to take him off because of an injury, because he got a knock, so let’s see how he is today.”

Liverpool are likely to shape up in a 4-2-3-1 formation against Wolverhampton Wanderers, with Alisson Becker in goal. Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson will start as the full-backs, and they will look to contribute at both ends of the pitch. Ibrahima Konate will start alongside Virgil van Dijk at the heart of the defence.

As for the midfield unit, Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch will add creativity, control, and defensive cover to the side from the deep. Dominik Szoboszlai will be deployed in the attacking midfield role, and he will look to carve out opportunities for his teammates.

Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz will be deployed in the wide areas. They will look to add pace, flair, and goals to the side. Finally, Darwin Nunez will lead the line for Liverpool against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday.

Predicted Liverpool XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Diaz; Nunez
