Chelsea, Manchester United begin loose talks for Thomas Tuchel

Chelsea and Manchester United are reportedly keen on 50-year-old German manager Thomas Tuchel, who has left Bayern Munich.

According to reputed German journalist Florian Plettenberg, Chelsea and Manchester United have now initiated talks with 50-year-old German manager Thomas Tuchel regarding a potential move this summer.

Mauricio Pochettino has been quite underwhelming this season, although Chelsea ended the season strongly. Nevertheless, the Argentine manager could be replaced in the summer. It will be interesting to see if Chelsea decide to bring Tuchel back to the club. Recent reports have claimed that he is open to returning to Stamford Bridge.

The German manager has managed Chelsea in the past, and he helped them win the UEFA Champions League trophy. Pochettino was backed significantly in the summer. But his team have missed out on a top-four finish or a trophy-winning campaign. However, there is a thought process that he deserves a longer run after the promising second half of the campaign.

The 50-year-old could prove to be an interesting acquisition for the Blues. Tuchel knows the club well, and the opportunity to return to the Premier League could be an attractive one for him. He has had a disappointing season with Bayern Munich, and they have failed to win the league title or the UEFA Champions League. He will be hoping for a fresh start, and a move to Chelsea will be a tempting proposition for him.

Manchester United want Tuchel as well

Manchester United could look to part ways with Erik ten Hag as well. The Dutchman has been quite underwhelming despite significant transfer backing. Manchester United have missed out on a top-four finish, and it will be a devastating blow for a club of their stature. It remains to be seen whether the 50-year-old is keen on joining the Red Devils over his former club.

Both clubs would represent an exciting opportunity for the 50-year-old manager. Tuchel has proven his quality across multiple clubs throughout Europe, and there is no doubt that he has the pedigree to manage clubs like Chelsea and Manchester United.

They are amongst the biggest clubs in the world and the opportunity to manage them will be hard to turn down for the german manager. The 50-year-old is an astute tactician who will certainly help Chelsea and Manchester United improve. It will be interesting to see if they can secure an agreement with the German.
