Hansi Flick trying to force his way into conversations for Manchester United job

Hansi Flick wants to be considered for the Manchester United managerial job amid uncertainty over Erik ten Hag’s future.

According to a report by GiveMeSport, Hansi Flick is keen on making a return to club football ahead of next season, and the former Germany boss is desperate to land the Manchester United job. Erik ten Hag’s future at Old Trafford is not certain. If they do they sack him after the end of the season, Flick wants to take over from the Dutch manager.

Erik ten Hag had a bright start to life at Manchester United. His team showcased signs of great promise in the first season, but things have fallen apart this time around. While injuries have caused a lot of problems, in general, they have not been good enough.

Manchester United’s new part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has already made a few major changes in key positions at the club and they could even sack the manager to start their new project from scratch. The newly-appointed technical director Jason Wilcox has been given the responsibility to decide whether ten Hag deserves to continue at the club.

Reports suggest they have already started looking for potential replacements in case they do end up asking the former Ajax boss. Gareth Southgate is at the top of Ratcliffe’s wishlist.

Hansi Flick wants the Manchester United job

While Manchester United are keen on having the England boss on their bench, former Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick is interested in being the new manager and is looking to force his way into the conversation for the job.

Things might not have gone according to plan for Flick while managing the German national team. But he did have an exceptional track record while he was in charge of Bayern Munich. He led the Bavarian giants to the treble back in the day and could be a great option for the Red Devils.

Flick has been without a job since parting ways with Germany in September last year. While he has opened talks with Bayern about a potential return to action, the 59-year-old wants to be considered for the Manchester United job if it does become available.

He is attracted by the possibility of managing in the Premier League for the first time in his career and is trying to force his way into the discussion. While Southgate seems to be their priority at this stage, Flick’s proven track record suggests he could be a great alternative if they do decide to consider him.
