West Ham United are now eyeing Paulo Fonseca as a replacement for David Moyes and an alternative to Ruben Amorim.

According to Give Me Sport, Paulo Fonseca has emerged on West Ham United’s managerial shortlist to replace David Moyes. The London club’s hierarchy is pleased with the Italian’s performances at LOSC Lille and view him as a potential alternative to Ruben Amorim. At the same time,, there are some other prominent names on their list as well.

Are West Ham United eyeing Paulo Fonseca’s appointment?

The Premier League managerial merry-go-round added a new name to the equation as Paulo Fonseca has come in the news heavily in the last 48 hours. First, he saw links to Liverpool as a potential option to replace Jurgen Klopp, and now West Ham United are linked with the Lille boss, as incidentally, both English sides consider him an alternative to Ruben Amorim.

Amorim recently emerged on West Ham’s list. But as things stand, the Portuguese tactician might not join them, and the same goes for Liverpool. Hence, recent managerial links to both clubs are more or less the same, including Fonseca, with the Lille boss ready to take the following steps and make a move to the Premier League.

West Ham reportedly like Fonseca’s profile for his work done at Lille and view his experience in France, Italy and the Europa League as a significant factor. The Hammers are likely to part ways with David Moyes and view the 51-year-old Ligue 1 manager as a top contender to replace the Scotsman.

Whether Fonseca is the primary target for the Hammers remains the question, as there are some others on the list that have caught the club’s eye. The Italian might prove to be an exciting choice should he jump ship from Lille, although any decision might only be taken in the summer.

Julen Lopetegui and Gary O’Neil are also options for West Ham

Fonseca is only the latest name to emerge on West Ham’s radar, as the media has been busy linking many other highly-rated managers to the Hammers. Gary O’Neil is a target, although the current Wolves boss does seem content with life at Molineux.

Former Wolves and Real Madrid manager Julen Lopetegui might seem like a serious option for West Ham to consider after reports of an offer emerged in the media. The Spaniard has been out of a job since leaving the former and might be in the frame to take over from Moyes in the close season.
